Alexandria Campus Band -- This 80-member band celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2002, and is directed by Dr. Robert Petrella.

NOVA Community Chorus -- The 90-member chorus regularly performs with the Alexandria Symphony, Arlington Symphony as well as the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic, and is directed by Dr. Mark A. Whitmire.

Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic-- This orchestra serves as our campus-affiliated orchestra which students can register for credit and is directed by Ulysses James. Acceptance into the orchestra is by audition.
In addition, the Music Program provides an extensive series of recital and solo performance opportunities each semester. These performances include:
- Semester recitals in applied voice, piano and guitar
- Graduation recitals
- Small group specialty recitals
- Class Piano recitals
- Seminars
- Composition Forum
- Outreach recitals in the community
- Honors Recital - This recital features the 2 most outstanding achievements each year in piano, voice, instrument, and composition. These students receive both an Honors Certificate and monetary award.
