to About Our Program
The
Alexandria Campus Music Program enjoys several partnerships with
the community.
Through
our campus/community partnership with the Washington
Metropolitan Philharmonic, qualified
students can register for ensemble credit as part of their
degree program.

The music program also works regularly with the Alexandria
Symphony and the Arlington Symphony. Our chorus regularly
performs with these orchestras at the Schlesinger Center and
in the community. These orchestras in turn contribute to our
program by offering seminars and open rehearsals. Our faculty
serve as judges in competitions held by these orchestras.

Through a partnership with Jordan Kitts, new grand pianos
for classrooms, uprights for practice rooms, and electronic
pianos for the theory room are provided each year.

The Alexandria Campus Band affiliates with surrounding elementary
schools, inviting those bands to perform in a yearly concert
at the Schlesinger Center
