THE NVCC SUMMER BAND CAMP is a great opportunity for band students, ages 10-14, to perform with other talented students. Instrumentalists will need at least one year of experience on their instrument. Students will participate in large and small group rehearsals and attend daily classes on such topics as audio recording, jazz improvisation, instrument maintenance, and performance skills. In addition, the students will attend performances by professional musicians. Dr. Wendy Matthews is conductor and lead clinician; e-mail her at wmatthews@nvcc.edu to learn more!
The camp will be July 13-17 from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm in the Tyler Building of the Alexandria Campus. The final concert for family and friends will be held on July 17 at 2:30 pm in Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center, also on the Alexandria Campus. Gala performance with the 257th Army Band, July 16th at 7:30 pm.
