Two Music degrees are offered at the Alexandria Campus, as summarized below. For complete details on each degree, requirements, applied intsrument offerings and requirements, course substitution, and more see Music Student Handbook.

A.A.A. Degree (Associate of Applied Arts)
This degree is designed for students who wish to:

  • earn a two-year degree in Music; or,
  • continue Music studies at a four-year institution; or
  • gain a two-year degree to provide the necessary background for entry into a Master of Music degree program. This latter opportunity is offered to those who have a bachelor's degree in a field other than Music.

A.A. Degree (Associate in Arts)
This degree is designed for students who wish to:

  • continue studies in a four-year institution with an emphasis in Fine Arts or Liberal Arts; or
  • transfer to a four-year institution as a Music minor.
