Tim has been the
Program's Instructional Assistant since October 1992. He
is an alumni of the Program, holding an AAS Degree in Communication
Design and Electronic Graphic Design. Tim assists students
and faculty in the classroom and individually.
Before attending NVCC Tim worked
ten years with his father, Don Brockman, an American saddle
horse, trainer. At that time Brockman Stables was located
in Neenah, Wisconsin. Tim spent a winter helping an uncle
film Point Ryes National Seashore and then moved on to earn
a "Six Pack" - Charter Boat Skippers License for
power or sail on the eastern side of Lake Michigan. Being
around boats and good repairing them he eventually went to
work for Nimphius Boats, Neshkoro, and later the Boat Works
in Oshkosh and later still, Sweetwater Boats also of Neshkoro.
All these boat yards were located in Wisconsin.
When lean
times hit the boat building world Tim became a carpenter.
After several years on construction sites, circumstances
changed. Drawing and painting became the focus for several
years. When illustration peaked his interest he found his
way to the Communication Design Program at the Alexandria
Campus. That was more than 12 years ago.
