Course Objectives: At the end of this course, students will understand and be able to use the following objectives in future work.
1. To further explore concepts and techniques of three dimensional form.
2. Since this is the second level of three dimensional design,, students are encouraged to
continue to develop their own unique three dimensional vision.
3. A wide spectrum of creative thinking is encouraged.

DESIGN 4 :

Since this is an advanced level course you will have an opportunity to choose the projects that you would like to investigate these semester. You may choose any 4 from the list below. If you would like to substitute any of these projects with one that we did in Design 3 you may. The rationale of this is for you to have an opportunity to explore fuller one of the concepts of the projects that we did in Design 3.

LIST OF PROJECTS:

1. Create a 3-D form that is made of interlocking elements.

2. Design a form that implies a sense of a boat.

3. Create a unusual hat form.

4. Take the idea of nesting and create a work that explores this concept.

5. Take multiples of the same object/ materials, and create a three dimensional form out of them.

6. Using the concept of stacking create a form that utilizes that concept.

7. Transform a piece of clothing by taking it apart and reassembling it three dimensionally, utilizing non-traditional materials as fasteners.

8. Select a sculptor whose work you respond to and create a piece that reflects how this artist's work has influenced your projects.
9.

NOTE: You may also combine concepts into a single project. For instance, you could create a work the incorporated both stacking and multiples of the same object.......
