NVCC - Alexandria Campus Tutorial club need a Tutor

Thank you for your interest in receiving tutorial services at the Alexandria Campus. The following information will assist you in the process of applying for services.

Am I eligible for tutorial services at the Alexandria Campus?

You may apply for tutorial assistance for classes you are currently taking at the college. Tutoring is not available for placement test preparation.

How do I apply for Tutorial Services?

Tutors are available by appointment only.
Complete an application for tutorial services. Applications are available in the Tutorial Office located in AA148 in Counseling Services located in AA232 or you may print an application by clicking here on Application To Request A Tutor.
When completing the application
1. Be specific regarding the hours you are available to meet with a tutor. For example noon - 4pm on Wed is more helpful than stating "anytime in the afternoon" (too broad) or 1pm-2pm (too narrow)
2. . Be sure that the phone numbers written on the form are legible, and in working order.
3. . The tutorial office must be able to leave a message at the numbers indicated on the application
4. Be sure you have read the section labeled IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TUTEES and have signed the application.
5. Completed applications should be brought to the Tutorial Office in AA148, or the Counseling Office in AA232

How Much Does It Cost and How Many Hours of Tutoring May I Receive?

You may receive one free hour of tutoring, per two subjects, per week. Documented students with disabilities, are eligible for two free hours of tutoring, per two subjects, per week.. If there are any additional questions, please call 703-845-6363 or 703-845-6301
