Services at the Alexandria Campus strives to promote educational
excellence and to assist students with overcoming academic
difficulties.
Tutorial
Objectives
- To
provide qualified, trained and supervised tutors in a variety
of academic
subjects.
- To offer
tutorial services in a variety of formats (groups, individual,
labs).
- To provide
support services to students with disabilities (readers, tutors,
scribes).
- To provide
an opportunity for high achieving students to share their ideas
and talents with other students
Who
Are the Peer Tutors?
Peer tutors are
qualified students who have a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or
better and have earned an A or B in the subject
area they tutor.
Peer
tutors may be paid or volunteers. To find out how you can become

Who
Is Eligible To Receive Tutorial Services?
Peer
tutors are available to all students enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College. Tutors are available by appointment only. To find out

How
Much Does it Cost?
You may receive
one hour of free tutoring, per two subject per week.
Disability students receive two hours of free tutoring, per two subjects per week.
