Every student at the Alexandria Campus has the potential and the opportunity to become a student leader. There are many benefits to becoming involved in student leadership. In addition to learning more about yourself, your strengths and interests, students gain valuable experience which can enhance applications and opportunities for employment and transfer to four-year universities.
Student leadership experience may create opportunities for scholarship eligibility. Involvement in Campus and College events, activities and organizations often brings students into contact with faculty, staff and administrators which, in turn, can provide opportunities for letters of recommendation. The friendships students develop, working together as a team on projects and goals, often remain strong long after graduation. Finally, the satisfaction of working as a team toward a common goal and knowing that you have made a positive contribution to your community is huge.
