Heron's Formula

A formula for the area of a triangle , where a, b, c are side of the triangle and . For example, if the sides of a triangle are 7, 5, 4 then

For a right triangle, the side opposites the right angle is called the hypotenuse. For any right triangle, the Pythagorean theorem asserts that:  (leg 1)2 + (leg 2)2 = (hypotenuse)2
