Mathematics Teaching Endorsements in Virginia
The Virginia 6-12 (high school) mathematics teaching endorsement.
This teaching endorsement requires at least 36 semester hours in mathematics and computer science, as well as the education courses. At the Alexandria Campus, we offer the required math and computer science courses. They are:

The Virginia 6-8 Mathematics teaching endorsement
This endorsement requires 21 semester hours in math. The following NVCC courses suffice.

The 6-8 Algebra 1 add-on endorsement
This endorsement requires 24 semester hours of mathematics and computer science. However, with the courses available at NVCC, the required areas of course work require more than 24 hours of mathematics and computer science.
