Student Support

Training Opportunities for Students
The Open Computer Lab provides training to all students in various subjects ranging from Introduction to Microcomputers, Tips and Tricks for Research on the Net, myNOVA, File Management, Microsoft Office, file storage, cloud space sharing/storing, How to Prevent Malicious Attacks on Your Computers and more.

Assistance With Login IDs and NVCC-Email Accounts
Having trouble logging in? Can’t figure out how to access your student email account? Didn’t know you had an email account? We’re here to help!

Assistance With School Work (of all levels)
The OCL has expert staff who are available to help you complete your computer related coursework. The staff can assist you with any additional software that you may need for your classes.

Scanners and Printers
You’ve spent time perfecting your designs/assignments and now you’re ready to print. The OCL has several high-resolution printers and supports color printing. We also have a flatbed scanner and some high-speed scanners that NOVA students and faculty can use for free. Please ask the staff to teach you alternative methods for scanning documents.

Registration and Admissions Assistance
Need some quick help with registering for a class, or you are new to the College or country, we are here to help. The OCL staff collectively speak 15 languages. One of the staff members are happy to walk you through the online process.

Telephone Support
Stuck at home with a computer problem or need some information about the labs; give us a call. We can walk you through many common computer problems step-by-step. However, if the nature of your problem is too complex by phone, you may be asked to come in to the lab. Contact us at 703.845.6387.
