Registration Information
Online: http://www.nvcc.edu/alexandria/moto/courses.asp. Use our "shopping cart" to select courses, and complete the registration and payment process online using your MasterCard, VISA or American Express credit card. Please make sure that you have an EMPLID. If you do not have an EMPLID, you will need to apply to the college. Click on this link https://apply.vccs.edu/app/app.htm, follow the directions.
Application for Admission: If you have never taken a class at NOVA, you’ll need to complete the VCCS Application for Admission. You can fill out the application online at http://www.nvcc.edu, or you can complete the application form and submit it to the Continuing Education Office by mail, fax 703.845.6083 or in person. (Please type or use black ink on the form if you fax it.) By completing this application, you'll receive a number that will function as your Student ID # for all future transactions with the college. If it’s been more than three years since you’ve taken classes at NOVA, you’ll need to submit a new application, using your current Student ID #, to update your records before registering. You must be on time for all sessions of the courses. Class starts promptly. If you are late for any portion of the class you will be dismisssed with no refund. In order to be eligible for a refund class registration must be canceled two (2) weeks prior to the class start date.
Registration: Registration is continuous from now throughout the Fall Semester. It is on a first-come, first-served basis and remains open until the class maximum is reached. If the class you wanted is full, contact the Continuing Education staff for assistance at 703.845.6280. To make sure you get the course you really want, register and pay for it as soon as possible.
Payment
Payment for courses is due at the time of registration. (You aren’t allowed to audit or sit in classes for which you haven’t paid.) Payment can be made by using your credit card (VISA, MasterCard or American Express) on the Web or by paying with check or cash at the Alexandria Campus Business Office in AA 187, Monday – Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. They can be reached at 703.845.6211.

Cancelled Classes and Refunds
You’ll receive prompt telephone notification of course changes and/or cancellations. Please make sure we have up-to-date contact information for you. If we cancel a class, you’ll automatically receive a full refund. If you’re unable to attend a course, you’re eligible to receive a full refund if you have a written notice, two weeks before the starting date of the first scheduled class session. A refund check will be sent to your mailing address within two to four weeks.
Accommodations for Persons with Disabilities
NOVA is committed to providing an accessible education and a supportive learning environment for all students, including those with documented disabilities. If you require special services or accommodation, you need to contact the NVCC Counselor for Students with Disabilities in AA 229 at least four (4) weeks prior to the start of class. To qualify for these services, you must provide clear, specific evidence that a qualified professional has established a formal diagnosis of disability. All information obtained in the diagnostic and medical reports will be maintained and used in accordance with applicable confidentiality requirements.
Parking on Campus
Our students have the choice of paying $.25/per 20 minutes (quarters only) in the metered parking lot (located at Campus Drive and Dawes Ave), or purchasing a semester permit for $75. The permit allows you to park in any of the B (Student) Lots on campus. If you’d like to purchase a semester parking permit, you can do so online at https://parking.nvcc.edu, or buy it directly from the Parking Services Office in AA 189A. Weather Policy
If the college is closed due to inclement weather, all non-credit classes will be cancelled, and you will be notified of the make-up date for your class. College closings are announced on local radio and TV stations as well as on the college web site – www.nvcc.edu.
