Practice I (New Course)
Have you taken the Basic RiderCourse® (BRC) and want more practice? We are offering additional riding for those who: 1) have passed the BRC and received their motorcycle endorsement; or 2) have their motorcycle endorsement AND own a motorcycle, but haven't been riding for a while. Using the school's training motorcycles you will practice the skills riders were exposed to in the BRC.
2008 Spring Registration is underway. WALK-IN during office hours . Please make sure that you have an EMPLID.
Course Details
This course is designed to provide more "parking lot" practice, emphasizing continued skill development. This is not the Basic RiderCourse, and there is no motorcycle license issued upon completion.
Instruction will comprise 4-5 hours in a parking lot riding various exercises designed by the Virginia Rider Training Program. Your coaches will all be certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and Virginia Rider Training Program. Enrollment will be limited to 12 students in a class with two instructors.
There is NO classroom work and NO formal testing. This class is designed to provide you (the student) with more riding practice on the school's training motorcycles under the supervision of professional coaches.
The cost of this class is $90

Skills Practice II
(Skills Practice on YOUR motorcycle / Scooter*)
Congratulations! If you made it this far you have acquired your own motorcycle or scooter. Are you wondering how does what you learned on the training bikes relate to what you now have to do when you ride around town , or on those trips / getaways you have been planning?
Course Details
Instruction will comprise 4-5 hours in a parking lot riding various exercises designed by the Virginia Rider Training Program. Your coaches will all be certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and Virginia Rider Training Program. Enrollment will be limited to 12 students in a class with two instructors.
There is NO classroom work and NO formal testing. This class is designed to provide you (the student) with more riding practice on YOUR motorcycle under the supervision of professional coaches.
The cost of this class is $75

Required Materials for Both Courses:
All Students must provide the following protective clothing:
- Proper riding gear
- helmet (min ¾ and DOT rating)
- eye protection (faceshield, sunglasses, prescription eyewear)
- full-fingered gloves (preferably leather)
- long sleeve shirt and/or jacket
- long, sturdy pants (e.g. blue jeans)
- Sturdy, over-the-ankle footwear

Current operator license with motorcycle endorsement
Additional Required Materials for Skills Practice II:

Motorcycle or Scooter* (able to
pass Instructor T-CLOC inspection)
- Proof of ownership (or written authorization to use bike in class)
- Current registration / written permission from owner
- Proof of insurance
- Current inspection
All Classes are held on the Alexandria Campus motorcycle range (B-1 parking lot at the corner of West Campus Drive and Filmore Avenue). Students meet at the range for class, and must be on time. There is no classroom work.
You must be on time for all sessions of the courses. Class starts promptly. If you are late for any portion of the class you will be dismisssed with no refund. In order to be eligible for a refund class registration must be canceled two (2) weeks prior to the class start date.
You may qualify for reimbursement from some Rider Clubs (e.g. Honda Rider Club, Harley Owners Group, BMW, etc.) after successful completion of the course. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation defines this curriculum under the Experienced Rider Course Suite -- Skills Practice.
** By definition, for this class a “Scooter” must meet the requirements of the Commonwealth of Virginia, requiring title, registration, and inspection as a “motorcycle” to operate on the highways and byways of the state (Code of Virginia 46.2-100).
