On behalf
of the staff of the Military Site Office, welcome. We hope you enjoy
teaching at our
sites.
We think you will have a very rewarding experience teaching at Ft.
Myer or the Pentagon.
As
of June 03, access to Fort Myer has changed. Please refer
to the instructions on getting
a one
year post pass for yourself, and a vehicle decal for your automobile.
Though having both may not
guarantee quick access onto Ft.
Myer, it should help speed things up at the gate. It is
recommended
you give yourself an extra 15 minutes to get though the gate at
Ft. Myer. If you are
going
to be teaching courses at the Pentagon, they have special instructions,
please contact the MSO
for
more detail.
Please
take a look at the guidelines as set
down by the Director of the Ft. Myer Base Education
Office.
Base Education does not ask much of NVCC but they do want the Professors
to be aware of
few items. The biggest issue we continue to have is ensuring the
classrooms are picked up, desk and
other
items are returned back to their original place and white
boards are wiped off at the end of
each
class day. If you need cleaning supplies, please let the MSO know.
Please
ensure you pick up your initial classroom roster and attendance
sheet from your Department
Head. After your initial roster, you may use NOVAConnect to
print off your most recent course
roster. Take roll each day you have class. If you
have a student who is in your class but not on
your
roll, contact the MSO immediately. Chances are the student
failed to turn in a TA or some
other
payment. In addition, if you have a student who does not show up
at the end of the Drop/Add
period, please let the MSO know.
Please
note, I have added your name on the current Schedule. Your
name links to your NOVA
web page information. This will be the main way students will
be able to contact you. Please,
check
your NVCC mail daily. Also you may want to take advance
of your site to post course
information and details.
A
representative of the MSO will contact you prior to your first night
of class at the start of each
semester.
He or she will leave in your classroom a copy of your unofficial
classroom roster. In
addition
please pass out any information the MSO may leave for you to pass
onto your class.
If
you have any questions about the above, please Contact
us.
