There are five ways a Military student or their Dependents may register for courses.  NovaConnect, Phone, FAX, EMAIL or in-person on Campus or at one of the Military Sites.  Regardless of how you register please note the payment due dates, found at the NovaConnect web site.

For Solider's who get their TA out of the Ft. Myer Army Center/Pentagon, your TA will need to be given to one of the MSO representatives, or FAX over to the Business Office of the Alexandria Campus.

Bring your payment along with the list of courses you want, to one of our three sites during our posted working hours.

Note, when you go to your Base Education office to get your TA form completed, you will need to bring with you your degree plan/SOC.  Base Education will not issue a TA unless you have this item.

EMAIL

The least preferred way to register is via email.  You may email Mr. Darley with the index number of the course(s) you want.

GENERAL REGISTRATION, ADD/DROP AND WITHDRAW INFORMATION

Registration begins in April and is continuous, Monday through Friday, until each course begins.   Please register early to avoid disappointment.   You must register and pay for your course, workshop, or seminar prior to its starting date and during the Add/Drop period. The courses offered at the Military Sites have some held seats available to the Military.  However, these are on a first-come, first-served basis.

After you have registered for courses, you may add/drop as desired up to the last date of the add/drop period.  Normally (depending on Semesters and Session, there is an additional period beyond the add/drop period in which a student my change their schedule with tuition refund.  Check the current schedule for add/drop and withdraw periods.  It is the STUDENTS RESPONSIBILITY to beware of these dates and the procedures for adding, dropping and withdrawing from courses.  After the drop/add period you may still get out of a course but you will have to request withdraw .  Their are two withdraw periods.  The first one is withdraw without Grade  Penalty.  The second one is withdraw with the possibility of Grade Penalty.

You can add/drop by simply using NovaConnect, Phone, FAX, Email or in person.  If you add/drop, ensure you inform your Base Education of the change.  You can only add a course if it is reflected on your degree plan.  In addition, if you add a course, you must provide payment for the new course.  Again you must inform your Base Education of this change.

If you are withdrawing from a course passed the date which you would automatically, receive a grade of W, you must do two things.  You must do complete the NVCC Course Withdraw form.  You will need the signature of your Professor, assigning you a Grade of W.    The second thing you need to do is contact your Base Education and let them know of your withdraw.

If you withdraw after the date, which allows for tuition refund, NCCC bill your Base Education for the course.  In addition, to the NVCC Course withdraw form you MUST contact your Base Education Office and inform them.  They will charge you the money for the withdraw, unless you can provide them a valid reason via your Change of Command.
