Northern
Virginia Community College (NVCC) is one of the sixteen SOCMAR-2
members who are participating in the initial phase of the
Marine Corps Career Colleges Program (MCCCP).
The
premise behind the MCCCP is to tie in a Marines MOS with a
degree plan within the participating network of Schools.
This program, however, does not change or modify NVCC current
policy of individual review of prior credit. Please
refer to the Transfer Credit and Advanced Standing
section or our current on-line
Catalog for more details.
To participate in the MCCCP, a Marine will need to complete
a SOCMAR
with the Campus the degree is sponsored out of.
Please note, in order to receive most of the degrees and or
certificates NVCC offers a student need only complete a quarter
of the degree from NVCC plus meet the specific requirements
of the degree, unless granted a waiver by the granting department.
In other words a Student can transfer into most of
the NVCC degree plans three-quaters of their degree, i.e.
CLEP/DANTES, SMARTS, AP, other College work, etc.
