Welcome to Instructional Support and Development at the
Alexandria Campus! The mission of IS&D is to integrate
educational technology into the curriculum through staff
expertise. The IS&D unit supports the academic mission of
NOVA by helping faculty and staff find innovative ways to use
technology to achieve their teaching goals. The IS&D
staff support educational technologies that can contribute to
NOVA's academic excellence by increasing student engagement
with course materials, supporting active learning strategies,
better matching teaching and learning styles, fostering
communication and collaboration, streamlining course
administration, and developing students' skills for future
learning and work. IS&D staff systematically
monitors and evaluates the impact and effectiveness of
educational technologies on the teaching and learning
experiences of faculty and students, and share these finding
with the campus community.
