(in Windows XP)

The college has issued a new template for faculty and staff to set up professional websites. The following are examples.

Faculty website example: Rebecca Kamen, Professor of Art
Staff website example: Annemarie Anderson, Reference and Instructional Services Librarian

While you can use various tools to do web pages, we recommend SeaMonkey, a free, easy and convenient tool. SeaMonkey consists of a web browser (SeaMonkey Navigator) and an HTML editor (SeaMonkey Composer). It works in the silimar way as Firefox and Internet Explorer while it is used for browsing web pages, but its composer can be also used to edit web pages. It is easy to learn how to use it.

Please click the following links for a guide. This guide has been used by many faculty and staffers, whose experiences show that you can convert your current websites or build new ones pretty easily by following this guide step by step. Please read it carefully and do not skip any step, unless it is necessary.

I. Map your computer to your web folder drive

II. Get the college's template

III. Edit the web page

IV. Add a link (for a course syllabus, etc.)

V. Replace/post the photo/picture

VI. Publish your website

NOTE: some web editing tools, such as FrontPage, simply do not work with this new template!
