General Info

The Alexandria Campus foreign language program consists of courses in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian, and Spanish. For more information about foreign language classes and the multi-media Language Lab go to the Humanities and Social Sciences home page.

The Listening Lab consists of an area inside the Testing Center -- Room 332. Students who are registered in a foreign language class may use cassette players to listen to tapes that accompany their workbooks. The Listening Lab hours of operation are the same as the Testing Center hours.

Students may purchase the tapes that accompany their textbook in the campus bookstore; they may follow the Tape Duplication Policies (listed below) in order to have tapes made for them on campus; or they may listen to tapes inside the Listening Lab by checking out tapes from the Testing Center staff.

Get order forms from shelf outside ROOM AA 332.
Read all directions on order forms, especially tape length.
Drop-off all tapes through slot in wall outside ROOM AA 332.
Pick-up all tapes from drawers inside ROOM AA 332.
All tapes left for exchange must be NEW tapes. All tapes left for exchange must be wrapped in ORIGINAL PACKAGING and should be NORMAL BIAS -- NOT CRO2, METAL, HIGH BIAS, etc.
All tapes left for exchange must be the CORRECT LENGTH 60 or 90 minutes, depending upon the lesson requested).

Only tapes from the following manufacturers WILL be accepted:
3M	AMPEX	AGFA	SCOTCH
BASF	FUJI	KODAK	TDK
MEMOREX	MAXELL	SONY	TEAC

Tapes from the following manufacturers WILL NOT be accepted:
AUDIO	BJ’s	CERTRON	CVS
K-MART	PRICE CLUB	RADIO SHACK	RITE-AID
WALMART

Unacceptable tapes will be returned BLANK.

Only TWO TAPES may be requested per student, per day.

Allow TWO WORK DAYS for processing of your order.
Requests for tapes out of normal sequence will be delayed.
NOTE: Publishers’ pre-recorded, professional tapes (from most language courses) are available in the Bookstore (Tyler).
