Yes we did. In Spring 2001, the Learning
Resource Services Working Group met
and voted to change our unit name from "Learning
Resource Center" to "Learning Resource
Services". This better reflects our activities,
which are located throughout the campus, and
not restricted to one "central" service
point.
What Facilities Support E-Mail, And Where Can I Get An Account?
All registered students have LAN accounts, e-mail accounts, and web server
space available for college-related use.

I need a Username and Password to log into NovaConnect, Blackboard, email, and some computers on campus. How do I find out what my logon information is?

Does the campus have a wireless network?
Yes, wireless is available in many areas of the campus. To connect to the wireless network, you must first configure your laptop for our network. Directions are available on the IT HelpDesk Web Page; click on Wireless LAN.
What Facilities Are Open on Weekends?
During the Spring & Fall semesters, the Testing
Center, Library, Open
Computer Center and Instructional
Support & Development are open Saturdays. Summer weekend hours vary by unit; check their respective websites for current hours, holiday closures and other details.
Is there a place where faculty and staff can receive technical assistance,
including classroom hardware/software, presentation, graphics,
web site and digital support services?

Which Computers Have Microsoft Office Software?
MS Office software is on the computers in the Open Computer Center (Room 155), Writing Computer lab (Room 334) and the Library (Room 332.)
Which
LRS Facilities Provide Community Patron Access?
Community Patrons are eligible to use the Library facilities
for their research needs. The Writing
Computer Lab facilities are restricted to registered students.
The Open Computer
Center is available to community patrons on a space-available
basis.
Is
there A Fax Machine Available For Student
Use?
There are currently no fax machines available on campus for student use. Students
are encouraged to inquire at local business centers such as Staples (5801 Crossroads Center Way, Falls Church
(703- 845-5600).
Is there a Scanner Available for Student Use?
A scanner is available for student use in the Open
Computer Center (AA155). Students are expected to have
a basic understanding of how to operate a scanner in order to use this
equipment.
Is there a color printer on campus for Student Use?
There is a color printer for student use in the Open
Computer Center (AA155).
Where
can I go to download/upload information onto
a disk or flash drive?
Students may copy to their disks or flash drives in the Open
Computer Center, in
the Writing
Computer Lab or in the Library.

can I go to get copies of Foreign Language
Tapes?
Students should go to the Testing
Center - Room 332 to have their tapes duplicated. Directions
are posted in the hall outside of the lab, and are also available
online. Tapes can be dropped off at any time. Hours for pick-up
are posted.

can I take a Correspondence Test from another University, a CLEP Test, Dantes, or a TOEFL Test?
