Search
Tips:
• Use and between
words that you want to appear ANYWHERE in the
article’s record, such as the title, subject,
author, or abstract field. For example: stress
AND college AND psychology
• Use an * if necessary at
the end of some words to tell the database to look
for all words starting with those letters. For example,
adolescen* will find articles
with adolescence, adolescent, adolescents.
• You may need to try different words to express
your topic. If you don’t have success with the
first term(s) you try, think of synonyms or related
terms that you could try instead.
• Not enough results? Your search terms may
be too specific.
• Too many results? Your search terms may be
too general.

•
In PsycNET, you can put additional limits on your
results by selecting options from the “Only
Show Content Where” section (further below
the search box on the Advanced Search page). For
example, you can limit your results to “Empirical
Studies” by selecting that category under
"Methodology".
• You
can limit your search so that you only get articles
with the complete text -- put a checkmark in the
"APA Full Text only" box.
