Researching Local Issues

Find Newspaper Articles

Use the library's Proquest database for both national and regional newspapers. Proquest includes the Washington Post. It is generally easier to use Proquest than the Washington Post home page, and ALL the articles in the Proquest database are free for NOVA students.

  • To begin a search in Proquest, start at the Library home page.
  • Click on "Articles & More," then Proquest.
  • Type in your topic
  • You can specify that results only come from a specific newspaper, such as the Washington Post, by clicking on "More Search Options" and typing Washington Post in the Publication Title box.

To use these and other Library databases from an off-campus computer, you will be prompted to log in with your NovaConnect username and password.
