Databases
The library
computers provide access to a number of periodical indexes
that will help you find magazine, journal, and newspaper

Internet
To access
Internet search engines and directories from the Library
Homepage, click on Websites. When you select one
of the search engines or directories, you can do a search
on a word or phrase.
Internet
Subject Directories are a good place to start. If
you select the subject directory Yahoo!, here are
some examples of terms you can type in the search box:
Computers and Internet, Computer Science,
or Operating Systems. You will get links related
to these specific topics. Or, use any of the subject directories
listed to browse through the subjects they have listed.
These include:
About.com
-- Computing & Technology,
Open Directory -- Computers
Librarian's Internet Index
-- Science, Computers , & Technology,and
Yahoo! -- Computers
& Internet.
Internet
Search Engines such as Google
and Mamma also offer
access to the web via different search features and databases
that may not be available through the Subject Directories.
The quality
of what is available on the Internet varies widely. Look
for institutional affiliation or the credentials of the
author when you use the Internet, just as with books you
might look for a respected publisher or author.
