Pagans, modern-day witches and druids celebrate the 31 October (Halloween and Trick-or-Treat to the rest of us) as Samhain, or "summer's end". Samhain is also known as the Third Harvest, the festival of the dead, and is one of the two "spirit nights" of the year. In celebration of Samhain (or Halloween) read a book about paganism, modern-day and ancient witches, the Salem witch trials, witches in literature ("double-double boil and trouble..."), witch-hunts and trials or magic.
