From May 3 - May 8 HM Queen Elizabeth II makes a state visit
to the United States. The Queen will commemorate the 400th Anniversary
of the settling of Jamestown, visit the College of William and Mary,
tour the Governor's Mansion in Richmond and address the General Assembly
(the first monarch ever to have done so), take in a day at the races
at the Kentucky Derby and conclude the visit with events in Washington
DC, including a visit to NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center and a State
Dinner hosted by President and Mrs Bush at the White House. In
honor of the Queen's visit to Virginia in May, and in honor of the 400th Anniversary of the founding of
Jamestown, Hot Topics hosts books on Queen Elizabeth II, the Jamestown
settlement, the Powhattan Indians, John Smith, Pocahantas, as well as
the Virginia Capitol and the history of the General Assembly.
