2009 is the 50th anniversary
of the death of Frank Lloyd Wright. Perhaps America's most renowned
architect, Wright is best know for his Prairie Style, as well as innovative
use of both natural and industrual materials, looking to nature for inspiration,
as well as the completely new idiom of his "Usonian" style. The
Washington area has two Wright houses -- the Pope Leighey house near Mount
Vernon which is open to the public and the Luis Marden house which is
not. Celebrate the achievements of this remarkable American icon
by checking out a book or video from your Library today! |
