COURSES
We offer Studies in Basic Spoken HindiHUM 193- I and II. At the end of HUM 193- I & II you will find yourself doing all this:
You will be able to satisfy most travel and accommodation needs and a limited range
of social demands beyond exchange of skeletal biographic information. Your speaking ability may extend beyond immediate survival needs.
Learn to tie a saree (women) and a turban (men).
Learn the names of some basic spices and cook some simple Indian dishes.
Learn to strike up a conversation with a Hindi speaker--anytime/ anyplace.
You will fulfill predictable, simple, personal, and accommodation needs; you will generally meet courtesy, introduction, and identification requirements; exchange greetings; elicit and provide, for example, predictable and detailed biographical information.
You will during the course visit an Indian temple, at least one Indian restaurant and see at least one Hindi movie.
You will conduct online chat sessions in Hindi and watch online film/ song clips, other videos and play Hindi games.
You will be able to give information about business hours, explain routine procedures in a limited way, and state in a simple manner what actions will be taken.
You shall be able to formulate questions, even some complicated question constructions.
