Automotive technology has evolved into a high tech career. It now requires advanced training and a college degree to be an automotive technician.

Welcome to the Automotive Department at NOVA's Alexandria Campus. We are a part of the Social and Professional Sciences Division.

Our mission is to provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to become one of tomorrow’s automotive professionals.

We offer the following degree and certificate programs:

  • Automotive Technology Associates in Applied Science, AAS
  • Emissions Specialization, AAS
  • General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program (GMASEP)
  • Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair Career Studies Certificate
  • Collision Repair Technology Career Studies Certificate

NOVA’s automotive program strives to go beyond our standard responsibilities and reach out to help our students and faculty/staff in need of car repairs whenever it matches with our curriculum. It allows our students to gain practical experience and appreciation for work they perform. Unfortunately, we are not able to take in repairs outside of the college at this time.

Your donations help us to continue offering these services, which often require special tools, chemicals and/or other items that are not covered in our standard budget or need to be purchased within a two-week time frame. We greatly appreciate all donations in any amount.

If you would like to make a donation, please send a check payable to: NVCC Educational Foundation, 7630 Little River Turnpike, Suite 817, Annandale, VA 22003. A notation should be made in the memo portion of the check "AL Automotive". The account number for the Automotive Program is 11-6080. You can also make a donation online; select "other" from the drop-down menu and type "AL Automotive".
