Driver Improvement The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles MAY award up to five safe driving points toward your driving record if you successfully complete this eight-hour National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course, approved as a Driver Improvement clinic by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. Certified National Safety Council instructors provide valuable information and safe driving tips that will benefit even the most experienced drivers. You will become aware of the high cost of unsafe driving and learn techniques for avoiding and preventing collisions. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE ON TIME (IF YOU ARE LATE, YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO CLASS AND YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND) attend all eight hours, and pass an exam to be eligible to receive the five safe driving points (points can only be awarded once during any two-year period). Your registration must be received in the CEWD office by close of business on Thursday prior to the date of class for Saturday courses. For weekday courses you may register up to 4pm the day of class. (CASH ONLY) COST: $75.00 Driver Improvement registration is continuous throughout the year.
Courses offered in Summer 2009:
REFUNDS AND CANCELLED CLASSES : You will receive prompt notification of course changes and cancellations by telephone. In the unlikely event that your course is cancelled, you will automatically receive a full refund. If you are unable to attend a course that has not been cancelled, you are eligible to receive a full refund if you cancel your registration on the Web or by calling our office a minimum of four days before the starting date of the first scheduled class meeting. There will be no refund after this time. |
