Certificate Program
The Business Information Technology Leadership
(BITL) Certificate Program meets the information technology systems
leadership and management continuing education requirements of the
global business market. The BITL Certificate Program provides 8.4
continuing education units (CEU). Each course provides 1.2 CEUs.
Program study topics range from the Introduction to Information
Technology Systems Leadership course to successive IT leadership-focused
courses. Each program course is a separate, stand-alone module integrated
within the context of the BITL Certificate Program. The program
courses are focused, comprehensive, and interactive. Students will
realize the greatest benefit when taking the entire certificate
program; however, students may also enroll in individual BITL courses.
Who Should Attend the BITL Certificate
Program?
The BITL Certificate Program is designed specifically for intermediate-level
business staff, professionals, leaders, and managers involved with
information technology systems, persons interested in transitioning
to the information technology industry, and information technology
professionals desiring to enhance their information technology leadership
and management competencies, skills, knowledge, and abilities.
BITL Certificate Program Completion Time-frame
The BITL Certificate Program seven courses can be completed in one
collegiate academic semester. Courses meet twice each week for three
hours and occasionally on Saturdays.
BITL Certificate Program Prerequisites
The single BITL Certificate Program prerequisite is that students
be interested in learning as much as possible about leading and
managing information technology resources, processes, and environments.
Introduction to Information System Leadership $445
As today’s and tomorrow’s leaders, managers, entrepreneurs,
or business specialists, business leaders need to understand the
concepts of information technology leadership in today’s
networked enterprises and global business markets. This course
provides exposure and understanding of information systems components,
uses, challenges, and leadership and management approaches to
address today’s IT challenges. This course introduces students
to IT resources and addresses the interconnected relationships
of IT for global business success. The course emphasizes the leadership
and management competencies to enable organizations to leverage
IT to achieve their business goals and objectives and to support
business operations, managerial decision making, and achieve competitive
and strategic advantages.

Information Systems
Analysis Management $445
Systems analysis enables the business and systems analyst to perform
a myriad of systems analysis in a structured manner. This course
provides the student an in-depth study of systems analysis fundamentals,
best industry practices and standards, and the systems lifecycle.
The course helps non-technical professionals understand system
requirements and specifications. This course will cover data flow
diagrams, data dictionaries, entity relationship diagrams, input-output
processing charts and methods addressing data and processing.
Emphasis is on logical systems analysis that identifies system
elements, with hand-on exercises and cases performed in and out
of class. This course assumes no computer programming knowledge.

Enterprise Architecture

Enterprise Architecture Leadership introduces the enterprise architecture
as an organizational strategic enabler to support strategic planning,
decision-making, and business process execution. Students understand
enterprise architecture as a recognized approach to describe an
organization's current and desired business environments. The
course defines enterprise architecture, describes the enterprise
architecture background, its current status, and critical importance
of leadership as the cornerstone of an effective enterprise architecture
capability. Students explore real-world examples of organizations

Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is the application of information
technology system solutions to improve business process effectiveness,
efficiency, and to reduce business costs. Students will learn
