Cheryl Guerrero came from Peru to the United States in 2001 and started her education at the Alexandria Campus of NVCC that fall. She graduated in 2003 with an A.S. degree in Business Administration. When asked about her experience at NVCC, she said, “I came to this country with very little resources. There are no opportunities for advancement in my country, but the opportunities are here. To be successful, you have to study hard. NVCC is a great school. All of my credits from NVCC transferred to American University; I am a junior today.” Ms. Guerrero is also very proud of the scholarship she received to American University.
