1.      Business Case for Employer-Sponsored Tuition Assistance:  A customizable PowerPoint presentation that human resource and business managers can use to advocate for a new or expanded tuition assistance benefit that addresses specific company business priorities.

 

2.      Overview of Research on Employer-Sponsored Tuition Assistance:  This paper summarizes the most up-to-date research on employer-sponsored tuition assistance as of Spring 2005, and was used to create the previously-described PowerPoint presentation. 

 

3.      Worksheet for Estimating Company Tuition Assistance Costs:  An Excel spreadsheet that human resource and business managers can use to perform “what if” scenarios to design and estimate costs for a new tuition assistance program, or to fine-tune and estimate costs for an existing program.  

 

4.      Turnover – the Silent but Substantial Profit Killer:  A PDF-formatted worksheet that a business manager can use to estimate the true costs of turnover within a company or business unit.  This tool was developed by the Paros Group of D.C.

 

5.      NVCC Employer Agreement:  This simple agreement between NVCC and Virginia-based employers enables out-of-state employees of the company to access a special employer tuition rate for NVCC classes. 

 

6.      Employer Resource Links:  For employers who want a comprehensive list of employee recruitment, development and retention resources, this resource lists 50 regional and national Internet resources.

 

7.      Workforce Development Articles:  A single document with a compendium of articles on workforce development, contributed by Northern Virginia Family Service’s Training Futures program.  Training Futures is a 22-week office skills training program and NVCC partner that connects under-employed family breadwinners with area employers who need tech-savvy administrative staff.
