Campus
Information
The Alexandria Campus is located between Seminary
Road and King Street a few blocks west of Interstate 395. The
campus is well connected to the Washington Area Metro system,
with five bus lines stopping at or near the campus, including
the new direct route from the King Street Metro station. See our Directions page
for more information, including a map of the campus and information
on parking.
The Alexandria Campus has the second-highest
enrollment at the college, after Annandale, with approximately 17,000
students every year.
The campus offers nine Foreign Languages and
has an ESL program of over one thousand students. There is also
an active Honors Program on campus.
The campus has grown from one building
constructed on a 22.5 acre site in 1969 to three buildings on 51.4
acres in 1980. A fourth building, the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert
Hall and Arts Center, opened in the Fall 2001.
Bisdorf Building Phase III is currently under construction and will feature state of the art science labs, a comprehensive student service center, and a one hundred fifty seat theatre. Completion is slated for August 2008. See construction updates in Watch Us Grow: Alexandria Campus Phase III Construction Blog.
