VIRTUAL ADVISING
Beginning Monday, November 2 through Thursday, November 5, 2009 ONLY
Academic advising is important at NOVA. Academic advising helps you to plan a program that will meet your educational objectives.
Your best advising is from your own Academic Advisor. You should contact your Faculty Advisor to schedule an appointment or to find out the Advisor’s office hours. If you do not know your Faculty Advisor’s name:
- Login to NovaConnect
- Click Self-Service
- Click Student Center
- Your Advisor is listed on the front page
If there is no advisor listed, contact the Division Office at your nearest campus for your degree program to be assigned an advisor.
If you cannot come to campus to meet with your advisor, the Online Virtual Advising Project is available to you.

The Virtual Advising Project is designed to extend academic advising by extending the hours of advising and the methods of reaching an advisor if it is impossible to come to campus during Advising Week.
There is no Priority Registration for Summer 09 registration. Everyone can register beginning March 31.
Because of high demand, Fall 2009 registration is conducted by assigned day during the first week of Priority Registration for continuing students: April 14-17. Fall 2009 Registration for all continuing students extends from April 20-May 4. Open Fall 2009 registration for all students, new and continuing, begins June 9.
