Tech Prep & Career Pathways

NOVA's Tech Prep & Career Pathways Program was developed to help high school students prepare for the ever-changing job market. Tech Prep is now generally referred to as Career Pathways and still has the same goal of helping students gain practical skills that will better prepare them for the workforce. Career Pathways is no longer only appropriate for students wanting to go into jobs such as HVAC, emergency services, office management, hairdressing and more, but students interested in health care, engineering, IT, teaching, etc. will also benefit from taking college coursework applicable to their career of interest.

Through the Tech Prep & Career Pathways Program at NOVA, knowledgeable career coaches are assigned to local public high schools and academies. Coaches help students sort through the vast number of career possibilities, learn more about those careers in order to make an educated decision, and create an educational plan that will help them meet their career goals. By developing a plan, there is a greater chance a student will make the right educational moves and succeed in reaching his/her career goal.
