REL 225 - SELECTED TOPICS IN BIBLICAL STUDIES (3 CR.)

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Examines a selected body of literature, a specific book or the Bible, or a pervasive theme. Lecture 3 hours per week.

GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE

Examines and analyzes a significant theme, a specific book of the Bible, or a body of Biblical literature selected with a specific methodological, philosophical, or literary purpose in mind. May be repeated for credit.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the completion of this course, students will be able to analyze and critically evaluate the topic(s) selected for examination. The specific course objectives should be carefully outlined at the time the topics are chosen. Generally, this course gives the student the opportunity to examine particular topics more thoroughly than would be the case in the other biblical studies courses.

MAJOR ELEMENTS OF CONTENT

The specific topics will be further defined by the instructor of the course but must include issues of importance to biblical studies. Possible topics might include the following:
