RAD 100 - INTRODUCTION
TO RADIOLOGY AND PROTECTION (2 CR.)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Presents brief history
of radiological profession, code of ethics, conduct for radiologic students,
and the basic fundamentals of radiation protection. Lecture 2 hours per
week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
The purpose of this
course is to introduce the radiography student to the origins of radiology
as a medical science and the role of the radiologic technologist as a member
of the health care team. Instruction is given in the basic methods of maintaining
safety when working with x-radiation before the student is assigned to
a health care organization.

At the completion of
this course the student will be able to:
