PED 139 - ICE SKATING

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Introduces the skills
of figure skating with emphasis on form. Includes equipment selection and
safety. Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 1 hour. Total 2 hours per
week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
The purpose of this
course to acquire skills and gain knowledge about ice skating as a recreational
activity.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of
this course the student will be able to:
A. skate forward
and backward
B. stop while moving
forward or backward.
C. balance on one
foot while moving forward
D. crossover in either
direction
E. know correct terminology
for movements learned.
F. demonstrate condition
and warm-up activities
