PED 127 - CYCLING

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Presents terminology,
proper skills, basic repair, training, equipment, and safety. Lecture 1
hour. Laboratory 1 hour. Total 2 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
The general purpose
of this activity course is to explore a lifetime sport through introduction
in basic skills, equipment selection and repair.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of
this course the student will be able to:
A. demonstrate an
understanding of terminology and parts of a bicycle.
B. develop proper
form for touring and racing.
C. demonstrate safety.
D. develop a higher
level of physical fitness.
E. develop a specific
training program to improve speed & endurance.

A. Bicycle parts
B. Riding techniques:
1. Individual
(hand positions, shifting, braking)

line, signals, drafting)
