PED 107 - EXERCISE
AND NUTRITION (1 CR.)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Provides the student
with a comprehensive workout through flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular
endurance exercises. Includes fitness evaluation, nutrition analysis, and
weight control. Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 1 hour. Total 2 hours
per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
The purpose of this
course is to acquaint students with a variety of body toning exercises
including muscular endurance and strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular
endurance and to assist them in the development of an individual exercise
program.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of
this course the student will be able to:
A. perform exercises
to improve flexibility, strength and muscle endurance, and cardiovascular
efficiency in a group setting.
B. learn correct exercise
form and technique.
C. improve body composition.
D. analyze the nutritional
strengths and weakness in their diet.
E. perform strength
exercises using weights or bands.
