Focuses on aerobic fitness through dance exercises. Emphasizes the development of cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, and flexibility. Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 1 hour. Total 2 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
The purpose of this course is to increase an individual's aerobic capacity. This is accomplished by elevating an individual's heart rate during exercise to a level that will increase cardiovascular efficiency. The course will focus on monitoring the student's heart rate during rest, during activity, and after performing dance routines. The course will include warm-ups and stretching routines, active dance combinations, and cool downs.
