COURSE DESCRIPTION
Introduces drafting and presentation, color theory, and coordination, space planning and arrangement of furnishings. Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
The course is designed to introduce the student to the techniques of interior design so that the student may be equipped to continue with the in depth courses that follow in the Interior Design Curriculum. The second purpose is to give the student a background in general design principles, color mixing, color theories and space planning as they relate to residential and commercial design.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
For the student to attain a working knowledge of the fundamental principles involved in creating a well ordered and aesthetically appealing interior environment and to develop an understanding of personal space and color theories as they work in society today.
