Course Description
Studies the role of
women and attitudes toward women from ancient times to the present. Lecture
3 hours per week.
General Course Purpose
Introduces students
to the diverse roles played by women throughout history.

No prerequisites. Average
reading ability.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Describe the cultural
and diverse roles played by women in the advancement of civilization
- Identify fundamental
sources of information about the history of women
- Describe and explain
the status of women in society
- Survey and discuss
changing attitudes towards women
- Examine recent research
in women’s history
- Examine the achievements
of many individual women in history
