Develops skills in etching processes including aquatint, dry point, and color printing. Includes field trips where applicable. Lecture 2 hours. Studio instruction 4 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
Explores the basic skills in the etching process including aquatint, dry point, line etching and soft ground. This course is offered as a studio elective for all Fine Art majors and as an ART elective in the student's second through forth semester of study.
ENTRY LEVEL COMPETENCIES
Prerequisite is ART 131 - "Fundamentals of Design I" or divisional permission. The student must have a minimum amount of drawing skills emphasizing the arrangement of line, black/white and gray tones, and a desire to experiment.
