COURSE DESCRIPTION

Considers contemporary issues, problems and controversies in modern law enforcement. Lecture 3 hours per week.

GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE

The purpose of this course is to provide the students with an awareness of the special problems and issues faced by law enforcement personnel in a complex and changing society.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:

A. provide an overview of selected problems in law enforcement

B. offer alternative methods to overcome and redirect stress

C. provide a model for professional conduct

D. create an awareness of special skills, tactics and resources available to deal with special enforcement problems
