Introduces the field of property management: professional aspects of real estate brokerage, properties, neighborhood analysis, tenants and qualifications, aspects of maintenance and repair. Lecture 3 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
The course is designed primarily for individuals who are pursuing or planning to pursue a career in real estate and who wish to learn the fundamentals of real property management. The concept employed in this course is to (1) develop practical principles and methods of real property management through lecture, homework assignments and classroom discussion, and (2) illuminate these principles and methods by applying them to specific examples and cases. Real property management is studied in its entirety as a comprehensive field. The major types of real property are considered from the planning, legal and operational perspectives.
