COURSE DESCRIPTION
Studies properties of fluids and fluid flow, Bernoulli’s theorem, measuring devices, viscosity and dimensional analysis. Emphasizes pumps, piping, and fluid motors. Lecture 3 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
To provide student with a basic understanding of fluid systems and their design.
ENTRY LEVEL COMPETENCIES
Ability to solve engineering static problems. Prerequisite is MTH 163-164 or MTH 166 or instructor's permission.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The student will be able to solve basic engineering problems in fluid mechanics.
