COURSE DESCRIPTION
Prerequisite is BLD 149. Presents advanced concepts of carpentry as they relate to residential/light construction, including theoretical and practical applications. Covers advanced framing techniques, finish and trim systems, and calculations commonly required in all phases of light construction. Lecture 3 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
To introduce students to the more complex areas of the carpentry trade.
ENTRY LEVEL COMPETENCIES
Basic carpentry level skills and knowledge, plus the ability to work with whole numbers, common fractions, and measurement; ability to read construction text. Basic verbal communication skills and basic problem solving.
