COURSE DESCRIPTION
Introduces relief printmaking techniques including woodcut, linocut, and collograph. Includes field trips when applicable. Lecture 2 hours. Studio instruction 4 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
To introduce the student to the processes, tools, and materials of relief printmaking, and the care and display of prints. The course is one of the second year electives in the Fine Arts transfer and AA degree program.
ENTRY LEVEL COMPETENCIES
Some abilities in drawing and 2D design.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The student will be expected to demonstrate ability to use the tools and materials necessary to create relief prints, and the ability to print editions using hand methods and/or printing press.
